PLAYTOP WINS TOP AWARD
Playtop Limited, the Newark and Edinburgh-based installer of impact-absorbing surfacing for playgrounds, has just received top honours for its website at the East Midlands International Business Communications Awards (EMBICA).

The Awards recognise organisations that demonstrate trading success in non-English speaking countries as a result of having developed effective language and cultural strategies.
With licensees in over 25 countries, a third of Playtop’s sales now come from outside the UK. To reflect this, the Playtop website, www.playtop.com, is currently available in eleven languages – from French to Japanese - with a further five planned.
Barry Baker, International Business Development Manager at Playtop, said: “Developing such a comprehensive website has been a real team effort. Winning this award is tremendous for everyone involved.
“Having to deal in so many languages and countries, the website is a vital part of our sales strategy. It not only supports our licensees in their own sales efforts but is also a great source of information for licensees themselves.”
Now in their second year, the Awards are supported by East Midlands Development Agency (emda), UK Trade & Investment and Regional Language Network – East Midlands.
Playtop was also a finalist in the Small Company Award category.
